Why are some of my channels missing or unavailable?

If a channel you normally receive is missing or unavailable, there may be a temporary service issue or a programming dispute.

DIRECTV works with programmers and channel owners to keep the shows, movies, sports, and other programming you enjoy. DIRECTV and programmers renew or extend most agreements without interruption. Sometimes, an agreement ends before both sides reach a new one. When this happens, certain networks, local stations, or programs may become temporarily unavailable while both sides continue working toward a new agreement.

As customer needs and the TV market change, DIRECTV works to provide programming at a fair value. Sometimes, a programmer or channel owner may remove its programming while we work toward an agreement that balances the price customers pay with the value they receive.

What happens if a channel is unavailable?

If a channel becomes unavailable while both sides work toward a new agreement, DIRECTV makes every effort to keep you informed and provide alternative ways to watch when available.

You may also qualify for a one-time bill credit. The credit is a small way to acknowledge the disruption and help make up for the temporary inconvenience while both sides work toward an agreement.

When do I receive my credit?

Once you accept your one-time credit offer, DIRECTV adds the credit to your account. It may take up to two billing cycles to appear on your DIRECTV bill.

Where can I view my credit?

Your credit appears on your DIRECTV bill. Go to Billing & Payments to view your bill online.

Note: If you already have a pending credit on your bill, wait until the next billing cycle before requesting a new credit.
